Trio Checkout is Trio’s SDK: a JavaScript module you embed in your website (or in a WebView inside your mobile app) that opens a hosted payment experience for your end users. It lets you offer the whole PayIn and PayOut processes of the Trio API with very little code, while Trio handles every stage of the consent and payment process: credential validation, authentication, error handling and the notifications of each flow, always with isolated end-to-end security when linking to banks and financial institutions. The SDK also supports Payment Initiation, where the user authorizes the payment at their own bank through open finance.
The SDK is not tied to a banking API version. You create a checkout session in your back end with your usual client_id and client_secret, and the SDK takes it from there. Only the links on these pages changed to point at the V2 guides.

How it works

  1. Your back end creates a checkout session with the Checkout API, sending the transaction details and the type of flow (options.session_type).
  2. Your front end calls Trio.create() with the session id and the callbacks you want.
  3. Trio.open() opens the checkout for the user, who completes the payment in Trio’s interface.
  4. Trio tells you what happened through the onSuccess and onEvent callbacks and through webhooks on the in document or out document that was created.
Sessions are short-lived and expire on their own, and you can customize the checkout as a white label with your logo and colors.
