A fee is an extra amount charged on the payment of a receivable. It is added on top of the receivable amount, so the payer settles both when paying the dynamic QR code, static QR code or boleto. All examples use fictitious data.

Where it applies

The fee works the same way on the three receivables:

Set the fee

Send fee inside the options object of the create request, as an integer in cents (BRL 100.00 = 10000):
The three responses return the configured fee as a money object:
On a dynamic QR code you can change the fee after creation with PUT /v2/in/pix/qrcodes/{id}, which takes fee in cents at the top level of the body.

How the fee is settled

Every receivable settled through Trio has a processing cost: the price you pay Trio for that receivable. When the payer pays, Trio keeps its processing cost out of the fee and passes the remaining difference on to you.
The fee lets you pass the cost of collecting the receivable on to the payer: they cover your Trio cost plus a margin, and that margin is credited to you.
The fee must be greater than the Trio processing cost for that receivable. If it is not, there is no difference left to pass on to you.

Request example

A dynamic QR code of BRL 100.00 with a BRL 2.00 fee:
The fee is independent from split payments: use either on its own or both together.
