A fee is an extra value charged on the payment of a receivable. It is added on top of the receivable amount, so the payer settles both the amount and the fee when paying the Dynamic QR Code, Static QR Code, or boleto.
All examples use fictitious data.

How it is configured

The fee is set inside the options object of the create request, as an integer in cents.
It applies the same way across:

How the fee is settled

Every receivable settled through Trio has a processing cost — the fee you pay to Trio for that receivable. The fee you charge on the receivable must be greater than your Trio processing cost. When the payer pays, Trio keeps its own processing cost out of the fee and passes the remaining difference on to you.
In other words, the fee lets you resell the cost of collecting the receivable: the payer covers your Trio cost plus a margin, and that margin is credited to you. It works as if the payer were subletting the receivable from you — they pay a bit more, and the surplus above your Trio cost becomes your revenue.
The fee must be greater than the Trio processing cost for that receivable. If it is not, there is no difference left to pass on to you.

Request example

The fee is independent from split payments — you can use either on its own or both together.
